Navigation House sold

Navigation House at Sprucefield on the outskirts of Lisburn was the house of the manager of the Lagan Navigation, controlling traffic along the canal from Lough Neagh to Belfast. After lying empty for some years the building was put on the Buildings at Risk register, and Hearth was able to buy it with a loan from Ulster Garden Villages. The building was renovated and converted to offices for the Lagan Navigation Trust, which is restoring the adjacent Union Locks at Sprucefield.

Hearth sold the house to Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council in March 2020, and the Council plans to develop the building and locks in association with the Navigation Trust.
