EHOD 2025 Officially Launched by Communities Minister
We are proud to announce that European Heritage Open Days (EHOD) 2025 was officially launched by Communities Minister Gordon Lyons at the iconic Riddel’s Warehouse in Belfast.
The Minister’s attendance highlights the Department for Communities’ strong support for cultural heritage and public engagement. In his remarks, he emphasised the importance of celebrating local stories, historic places, and shared spaces that connect communities across Northern Ireland.
Riddel’s Warehouse, a significant industrial landmark, provided a powerful backdrop for the event, echoing EHOD’s mission to unlock access to hidden and meaningful heritage sites.
EHOD 2025, taking place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September, is themed “Architectural Heritage – Past Structures, Future Connections.” The programme invites the public to explore hundreds of historic venues, many of which are not normally open to visitors.
Whether you’re interested in guided tours, re-enactments, open buildings, family activities, or storytelling, EHOD offers something for everyone, and all events are free to attend.
