Hearth is seeking a flexible Part-time Administrator and Bookkeeper (17.5 hours per week) to manage administration, property oversight, and financial duties including accounts, budgets, and VAT returns. The role is based in Belfast with some home working flexibility, reports to the Committee of Management, and offers £27,500 FTE.

Job Description of Part-time Administrator and Bookkeeper
2. The purpose of the position is to:
3. The Officer will attend and provide, in advance, a written report to the Committee of Management which meets roughly every six weeks.
4. The first assessment/consultation will take place no later than six months from commencement, with subsequent meetings scheduled thereafter. The Committee of Management will not only supervise and make recommendations as to the position but will seek to be a supportive body for the Officer.
5. Based in the Employer’s office the Officer will work with the Chair, Vice Chair and Committee of Management. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, as is familiarity with copiers, scanners, and other basic office equipment. In addition, a working knowledge of Xero and Gift aid is desired.
6. During office hours, the Officer will be a point of contact, representing the Employer in person, through email, and on the phone. Good interpersonal and communication skills are therefore needed, and confidentiality will sometimes be required.
7. The Officer is requested to show flexibility as the job description evolves and as required hours vary. The suggested schedule of 17.5 hours a week is an estimation of what will be required. While such a total may be more than sufficient during slower periods of the Employer’s calendar year, at other times more hours per week may be needed.
This role is offered on a two and a half day week basis or five half days. Due to the nature of the work, hours can be inconsistent or unpredictable; therefore, flexibility in working hours and the ability to work evenings and weekends around events is essential. Where additional event-work is required, Hearth offers time off in lieu.
The Hearth office is in The Old Museum Building, 7 College Square North, Belfast, BT1 6AS. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from home, in agreement with the Committee. The successful candidate may be required to travel away from home and in such cases, accommodation and expenses are provided.
Salary
£27,500.00 fulltime equivalent for a two and a half day week.
